View Full Version : XDCAM and Color

This is probably more of a Apple Color question than an XDCAM question but maybe someone else has experience this and has a simple solution.

I shot some 1080P30 footage, looks great in FCP but when I open the clip in Color it sets the frame rate to 23.98 not 30, so it plays back incorrectly. In the info tab for the clip it recognizes that its 30P but I can't change the frame rate in the setup tab to 30.

Any suggestions how I can resolve this?

Thanks

For some reason you can't just open up a file in color.
What you need to do is set it up in FCP first (make sure all your sequence settings are right) THEN use the "Send To" command to send it to Color. Then it will have all the same settings you had in FCP, including the right frame rate.

Just FYI: If you're still trying to learn Color, there's a great tutorial by Walter Biscardi. I picked it up and it made the difference between struggling to figure it out and making it an essential part of my workflow.

Dean,
would you care to post the link of the tutorial by Walter Biscardi you mentioned in your last post? Did not find it. Thanks for your kind help. Pe.
