Hi there,
I edit in Avid, so I've been happily exporting to mxf files.
Now I've shot something that someone else is going to edit, in FCP.
We both have Macs, so that's not an issue.
But I don't know how to export to QuickTime.
In Clip Browser, when I choose Export, I don't see QuickTime as an option.
Would someone please advise?
Thanks, Malcolm

I usually just set XDCAM Transfer to convert the lot from BPAV to another folder I smartly name XDCAM... Be sure to set the Import path in the preferences before you start, or you'll be at the mercy of the dreaded default.

But I bet some smarter people than me have easier, and some more convoluted ways of doing this. But so long as they are up to date on FCP, my method works just fine.

Why not just send over the BPAV folders and let them import directly into FCP or use the XDCAM transfer software themselves- it's all freely available.

Perfect. I'll just send the BPAV folders over to him.
Thanks so much to both of you.
