after shooting on camera lighting forever, it is time to change. I hate the Sony LED. it is heavy, and looks blue. I want to switch to off camera lighting for receptions. Are there
any decent dimmable fresnels? I am thinking of going with 3 Frezzi 100 watts. Just looking for a cheaper alternative.

Some wedding shooters I know are using these:

I use a Lowel ID light.

Can use a 50 or 100watt lamp and it is dimmable.

I also purchased a diffuser glass to put in front of it to soften the light.

I have been happy with the performance.

I have/rarely use an id light...it weighs much more than the sony, but it is a nice light. It's just way too heavy to me to be practical...and I don't wear batteries anymore if I can avoid it.

The first kit mentioned up top I think is a great configuration and sounds like what you're looking for.

It looks blue because it is 5600K LED, you need to put a CTO gel in it to bring it down to 3200K to match your camera indoor 3200K white balance settings.
