I recently tested the Gekko George Ring Light. Here are my impressions: the automatic filmmaker - Blog - Gekko George: Strange Name, AmazingLight (http://www.theautomaticfilmmaker.com/blog/2008/11/23/gekko-george-strange-name-amazing-light.html)

Thanks for that Steve. Great light, ridiculous price. Seems like they and P+S Technik make some of the coolest products but their pricing structure puts them strictly with rental or very wealthy shooters.

Thanks,

Dan

i would build such ring for half the price, ship for free, and spend 4 weeks on a sunny beach before building the next one....
this kind of led cost less than 20$ each, so even 32 led brings, with battery and regulator does not bring you over $1000.

they probably use the 1W or 3W model that is even cheaper.
