Is it possible to record 1080P (60) on the SxS cards? Or does it need to be cabled to a hard drive?

It seems the SxS cards are always described as "will record xx minutes of video at 1080i"

Yes, I record 1080p all the time. But the camera will not do 1080p60

Robert, Sony EXn cameras have two 1080 progressive frame rates, 23.98P and 29.07P. Also our Moderator, Chris Hurd has posted manuals for both the EX1 and EX3 are posted on a link at the top of page on this forum. Cheers!

Barry,

Did you know the world is somewhat larger than North America? There are other continents and on some of these PAL is used with 25 fps. The EX series support 25P as well.

I thought I had read that the camera WOULD shoot 1080p60. Glad to know it won't.

Thanks -

Very few cameras will do 1080 60P. The norm at the moment is to shoot 25P or 30P or if you have lots of motion 50i or 60i.
