Which LCD hood would suit the A1 best i have trouble shooting on sunny days

If memory serves me correct, Hoodman makes a pretty nice accessory.

They do, the H300 fits tho I'm using the 4" H400 from another life.

Does the magnifier help at all

Yea it helps... a lot! Especially if your eyesight is funky like mine is. In daylight though you may or may not be able to deal with reflections.
