if I have two wireless mics, whether it be a lav and a handheld with a wireless transmitter, or 2 lavs, how would I handle input on that with a Sony FX1, which do not have XLR inputs?

you need a "y" cable that splits from two mono 1/8" to one stereo 1/8". hook each of the mono ends to the two g2, the stereo into the mic input on the fx1 and viola.

You can wire your own, too. If i recall, both receivers hook to the sleeve, one positive to the ring, the other positive to the tip.

cheers!

Where you can you buy such a pre-made Y cable?

Where you can you buy such a pre-made Y cable?

Here's one example from Radio Shack ...

1/8" Dual Mono Jack to 1/8" Stereo Plug Y-Adapter - RadioShack.com (http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2102691)

And a similar one from Hosa

The plug goes into your camera mic input. Each wireless receiver has a mono miniplug output cable ... plug 1 into each jack on the adapter.

If you want something more a bit more rugged that an adapter you could get a couple of these plugs - http://www.trewaudio.com/store/product.php?productid=979&cat=80&page=1 - and make up a Y cable on your own with a conventional stereo plug on one end that would plug into the camera and two of the locking plugs for the receivers on the other. I don't know if there are any commercially available but if you don't feel confident with a soldering iron, pro audio companies like Remote Audio will make up a custom cable for you.
