Ben Longden January 28th, 2009, 02:33 AM Just make sure the preferences in Vegas as well as DVDA are the same; MPEG2 PAL, 720 x 576i @ 25fps 8 Mbps VBR lower field first Audio at 224 Kbps, 48Khz Layer 2 Burn onto +R discs, as these are recognised by more PAL players. The critical thing is what you are rendering from... the best result will be if the vision was shot at 25fps PAL in DV (or as an .AVI file). If its NTSC at 29.97 then there will be an image degredation. However, if you use the above recipe (or use the DVD PAL option in the render menu) the disc will play in 99% of players in the PAL world. Just make sure the preferences are set before you start, then Import the vision onto the timeline as usual. Vegas will automatically downconvert the HD to SD (because you asked it to in the preferences) and then edit it as normal. To reduce the overall render time (unless you have a quad core), make the first render to a PAL compliant .avi file, which is a sanity saver if you have a dozen lines or so with colour correction, unsharp mask etc. Then render the PAL .avi file to MPEG2 Just make sure that DVDA has the same preferences, especially PAL, or you will get a horrible result.
