Hi everyone,

I never studied filmmaking but I enjoy it very much, I would like to get better at it, I learn alot just by watching "making of"s included on film DVD's but I'm missing alot of basic information. I mostly realise it when I work with people coming out of film school, not because they are better than me but because they know the rules, the techniques, the official names of everything etc...

Yesterday I watched DV Enlightenment by DVcreators and it gave me the basic information I was missing for lighting techniques, the basic names like Key light, Fill light, Hair light etc... to more complexe issues like color ratio, hollywood V etc... now I know. But there are many other sides to filmmaking.

Can you suggest any good DVDs or anything that I can get my hands on to continu my education on any type of subject touching filmmaking, and I mean Anything (Filming, editing, sound, lighting, producing etc...) right now I'm watching a 4 DVD seminar on directing, a couple of years ago I bought a DVD on e-bay to learn how to edit with Sony Vegas and it worked for me.

Thanks in advance!

Check out "Digital Moviemaking" by Scott Billups, it might be a few years old but the fundamentals are all very relevant. Really, one the best ways to learn is by getting out there and doing it- either on your own or assisting others.

Thanks Benjamin, I'll check it out and I agree with you, learning on the job is one of the best ways to learn.
