A bit of 5dmkII people watching from my recent trip to Shanghai. Nikon lenses as ever. Shot using my recently devised LCD magnifier based on a Hoodman Hoodloupe 3.0.

Hi Dan, very cool footage. reminds me of my time in Shanghai.
I saw you rig, it looks soooo handy... especially that eye cup part... great solution to shoot under bright sun.
Hey, I know this has been discussed in the forum for ages, but still I wander how you set 5D2's shutter speed and ISO. cos your footage display a very consistent motion blur(e.g. ppl walking across in front of the cam). I understand that the camera displays misleading value when the shutter half pressed, in that situation, how do you determine the shutter speed and ISO.

Thanks again for sharing.....

Wow how big was the LED screen on the boat? Must be annoying to have that bright flashing billboard blocking the view of the Bund eh?

Aaron: constant shutter speed would be rather easy to maintain in stable lighting conditions as the footage was shot in..

Hey Yang,
I guess you are right, but you have to let the camera do the exposure for you, right? So no shining light through the lens or cover the lens with you hand trick? When using nikon lens, the aperture is fixed, the only way to set constant shutter and iso combination quickly is to let the camera do the exposure for you, am I right? Coz every time I filmed outdoor, it took me ages to get the shutter I want, and yet, I could not make sure the camera was shooting at the speed it indicated.

Lovely! Its been a while since I left Shanghai. Did u CC the whole clip? It looks like there was work done nicely. And how do u rack focus smoothly without a follow focus?

Dan- What did you do to the Hoodman to modifily it? Looks like you substituted another diopter.

I'm very interested in this as well. I emailed the Hood Loupe people several weeks ago about a solution for the 5D and haven't received a response.
