Hi all,

Just a short series of clips (unedited and not sound balanced ) of a week old baby black rhino at the Daphne Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage Nairobi, he was found abandoned in one of the reserves. Posted for the ah factor not for the artistic quality.
Click on the link on the vimeo page below the video for more info on the orphan.

Very interesting studies of wildlife from Africa & India on your Vimeo site Mick. Hard to discern which footage you got without a tripod. Tightly edited and easy to listen to, sound-balanced or not.

I thought I would never experience this sort of video without having to turn down a soundtrack by some celeb feeling paternal, maternal or eternal battling against a 76-piece symphonic synthesizer.

Hi Mick,

Lovely footage you have taken there, let's hope he can be returned to the wild.

I found the keepers words interesting too:

"Human / animal conflict is a real threat in the country now, because the population of man has increased and human beings are now fighting for land that belongs to wild animals"

Nice work

Cheers
Pete

Hi all,

Many thanks for the comments. As I said at the start this was not posted for its artistic or edited quality, but purley for its ahhh factor. Also to draw your attention to the fact that these animals are still endangered and that there are people who go to great lengths to help save them.

Brendon, your comments never cease to amuse me. I just love your command of the English language, the flowing and colourful replies you make to postings really brightens up my day. I would love to have you write some of my scripts for voice overs.

Kind regards

Mick

Don't be silly now marnell ..he's just teasing ... pretend you never saw the bit about writing scripts for him; he's only having you on ... head down now and (as on the serengeti) charge!

That's it! CHARGE, yes, a fortune and then some ... that's the last you'll hear from him ... fun while it lasted though, shucks!
