We're currently scouting locations in Athens and the rest of southern Greece for a documentary we will be shooting in the Spring. Anyone have recommendations on a good place to rent small quantities of equipment (tripods, lights, various other minor grip stuff) in case we forget something at home? Obviously we will bring much of our stuff with us, but thought that maybe format-agnostic gear might be better to rent locally.

hello Adam, I think you could find what you want
at Arktos facilities. It is a Greek-Belgian rental company,
based in Athens, working mainly with the advertising industry.
I don't know if they have a site but here is their phone number
+30210 665 5030.
They have a range of fixtures up to a 4k HMI, as well
as tripods and stands, and a variety of HD cameras.
There are some rigs too (I know there is a dolly and a
glidecam for lightweight cameras, as I've used them),
but they usually can get for you anything they don't have
in their list.
I have worked with them the last couple of years,
and I am very happy with their support and their prices.
hope I've helped!
