I thought I read somewhere that there has been a refresh of the MultiRigPro shoulder support and that the current version offers some significant upgrade to the older version. Is this true? I'm debating whether to purchased a used MultiRigPro (and potentially an older iteration?) or a brand new one. Thanks

The current version has been upgraded.
The Flexi-Tip is now stronger
The support pod "snaps in" QR style.
The shoulder brace is integral and folding.
The arms can be adjusted to any position.

I'd say go with the new version because of the improvements Danny has noted.
I'm using a MultiRig Pro on my EX-1 and find it the most versatile hand-held support system I've ever used or tested. Depending upon your needs, you could also consider the MultiRig JR. I shot that with the EX-1 as well.

The guy screws a Bogen quick release plate to one of the arm of the MultiRigPro, then folds the arm underneath the unit and then attaches the whole thing to the tripod. Does this effectively reduce the need to purchase the Tripod QR plate from DVTec? It's an $100 additional so I'm wondering if I can use the other tripod mount method.

The option in the Demo movie is no loger available. The QR Tripod Bracket is doing a great job, faster, and more stable.
