Hi,

First: I know that this subject doesn't really fit here. I just wanted to make a " heads up " for this interseting concept.

Please check it out yourself ( and No, I'm not connected to the project )

Whats all the fuzz about:

With this piece of software you're able to backup computer datafiles ( between 8.7 - 14 gb ) onto one 60min miniDV tape.

http://www.tomshardware.com

Has tested it and rated it " very intersting, but not mature "

Keep two very important things in mind with this technolgoy
(has been around quite some time in various programs):

1. it will add (a lot) more stress and work to your camera's heads. Which I'd rather use for video work personally

2. data verification and correction is a lot less low in a video
camera then it is in a commercial tape unit which is built for the
job! This means you can get read errors (really!) a lot faster
then with a normal tape unit and might render your backup
useless!!

Then again, you might generate some PAR files of your backupped
data and store those somewhere else. Then again I'd rather
use a couple of DVD's or get a "real" streamer if I wanted to do
backups (because I do this to get my data back in 1 piece!)
