I am about to take my EX1 on a trip where the only source will be the power outlet in a car (12V DC). I have done a quick scan and can't find any chargers that plug into the 12 V power out from a car that I can use to charge my EX1 batteries. Is anyone else using one of these and if so where did you get it.

best bet is to get a 12V DC inverter to local voltage (220v) then use the sony charger as normal

I bought a 12V to 120V inverter, then use the standard battery charger.

For all kinds of AC powered equipment, I've found the most economical solution is to get a 12V to 120V or 240V converter (if that's your power). They are getting really small and inexpensive nowadays, with more and more watts power. The last one I got at Costco was about $20 for about 100w and quite small, like the size of 2 packs of cigarettes.

I recommend this to most people instead of getting and adapter device that uses 12V directly. Plus you don't wind up with a lot of extra 12V powered equipment that you rarely use.
