Hello. I'm looking at the Etymotic page, trying to determine which model of in-ear phones are best for monitoring audio-for-video. It looks like the "S" variant is marketed as "monitor quality" while the "P" model has increased bass response for portable music players. As such, I presume it's the "S" model I want to try/buy.

Can someone who has these confirm this?

Also the only complaint on these seems to be discomfort with prolonged use. How uncomfortable?? I'm accustomed to having a stethoscope in my ear for most of the day. Should I expect this to be similar?

Thanks

If you think discomfort with long use might be an issue, also take a look at Ultimate Ears. Several of their higher-end models are available custom made to a mold of your ear taken by an audiologist.

Thanks Steve. After looking at them at the store and doing some reading about hearing damage from having the sound source closer to the tympanic membrane (one of mine is rebuilt to begin with), I decided to stick with the over-the-ears.
