Which is the Ideal Room Lighting for Video and Photo edition?

My computer room is almost Dark with only a Right size Windows that have a Blind wich only enter 3%-6% light

I just bought a Spyder3 Calibrator, he reconmend me to use White Point at 5000K but I don't get use it (is too yellowish). My Questin is:

Should I use Bulbs or Dark is OK if I use 5000K?
if not What is the best Bulb or Lighting I should use?

The white point on your monitor calibration lets you calibrate for judging print output that will be viewed under lights of a certain color value...this is mostly a pre-press consideration where you are making image conversions for printing...your screen color matches the lights the printers will be using to check the proofs. I may be missing some video - related info here (I come from a pre-press production background) and I'm sure our colleagues here will fill both of us in if I'm missing something....fwiw we are using standard screen calibration, about 6000K, and adjusting our screens to match the standard video color bars....

The room lighting is a separate issue---the screen brightness and contrast look different to your eye if you are in a brightly lit room or a dimly-lit one; most calibrators let you specify what general light level you have in the room, and take that into consideration in setting up your monitor.
