when I am working on the time line sometimes, I am not sure how, the envelope edit tool becomes activated. If I go to the upper tool bar I can not get it to release. this prevents me from deleting or doing anything to a praticular event!! In order to get rid of it I have to close vegas and restart the program!!!!

If this happens, does anyone know an easier way to get back to normal. I have gone through my resources and and have expired them!!!!

The shortcut is the D key (Shift+D to release).
It's right next to the S key so maybe you're hitting it by accident?

I have gotten pretty good with this program but there is still so much to learn!!!! It is a great editing suite!!
