The PV-DV953 is selling as low as the $1100 US range in some US online stores. In Canada, the cost is a inflexible $2450 (Canadian). If I buy a US M.O. for $1l00, it would cost me about $1320 Canadian Dollars. That's a price difference of about $1130 Canadian Dollars. All I can conclude is that Pana is ripping off Canadians big time! (in my math's opinion) Why?
And the PV-DV953 isn't the only cam that's a way overpriced in Canada. I think I'm done buying cams in this darn country.

We have similar things going on here in Holland. Mostly this is due
here to higher taxes and other stuff like that.... Something like
that might be going on in Canada as well? Also might depend
on dollar exchange rates etc.

The Canadian Dollar is at .7516 US. Pana Canada is owned by Pana USA. Plus Canada and the USA have a free trade agreement. No, it's not the taxes. The taxes come on top of the $2450 CAN price (14.5% in British Columbia).

Wow Frank .... what a business we could start! Just think of the people we could take advantage of. I'll get them here from this Panasonic guy I know - dealer cost is about 900 US and then we'll make a killing on you silly Canadians :-/ !
But seriously, some one is making money and it isn't us!
