I was wondering if there was a way in which the xl1s could be set up as a webcam for monitoring a location from a remote location?

You will need an OHCI compliant firewire (IEEE 1394) card in your PC, and have some WEB cam software. The rest should be in your XL1s manual. It's not laughable, some people just want the best. Now if you bought a HD 24P Cinealta for a webcam, that would be funny! Murad Toor October 21st, 2003, 02:35 AM If you have iChat AV on both sides the XL1s-as-webcam would work. But if you have a few extra bucks, there are tilt/pan/zoom webcams out there for Windows. I apologize for not recalling the links. Tilting, panning and zooming would be handy if what you're doing is monitoring your home. All I have to do is plug the camera in, and it works with netmeeting, and all my other web programs :-D I havn't installed anything else. |
