Are there any differences between the HD10 and the DVHS format? Are they both mpeg2, or only the HD10?

Can I dump raw, from the tape HD10 footage to a DVHS deck with no problems?

They are completely compatible. Yes you can do directly transfers via FireWire from the HD10 to DVHS (and back again if you wish.) The HD10 uses the same MPEG2 transport streams that are broadcast via satellite and can be recording onto DVHS.

Thanks David.

Any Apple support for Aspect HD, or am I way off? Just curious (and it's late).

No version of Aspect HD for Apple. Although it is possible in the future for an Apple version, today Aspect HD is heavily optimized for the PC. If Apple (as a company) would like CineForm to port to their portform we will definitely consider it, as the G5 would be an excellent CPU for the Aspect HD RT engine. CineForm will only do the port if Apple wishes to partner in that effort, as Apple controls FCP and Quicktime, that is a dangerous playground. So you might have yo start a letter campaign to Apple.
