Using the XL1; in Frame Mode, I've been filming some dramatic stuff using a Tiffen Ultra-Con3 filter - gives me some amazing
depth of field effects.
The only drawback - the Ultra Con really mutes
the colors.
Any workaround and/or camera setting that
will allow me to 'pump up' the color values,
making them a little richer and more vivid?

Lets bump this to the top of the list and move it to the general XL1 forum. Do you have an XL1 or XL1s?

I'm not sure about this since I haven't seen to exactly what extent your colors are getting muted. There are a few work arounds, 1 you could toss up an enhancing filter that should bring out your red's and greens, not so much blues but it's worth a shot. I believe a pola will bring the blues out a little more, though come to think of it I'm not really sure what a muted blue would look like...
Another option work around, is to white balance to the opposite of the color that is being muted the most and then toss the ultra con on. I.E. Nick, my red's... they're they're PINK well get a light green sheet of paper, LIGHT green. White balance to that, You'll notice that when you remeove said sheet of green paper everythign takes ona rosy tent, next toss in the Ultra CON which is removing the Reds and maybe it'll look better.
I don't know if that helps but it might eb worth a shot.

I would recommend color correction in your NLE.
