I have this strange problem with Vegas 8.0c.
I'll have a 2 hour HDV or XDCAM HD project. I'll put the HD project veg in an empty DV Widescreen project, match my output aspect, and render to MPEG-2 for SD DVD.
It seems to go fine, I go away, and after a while, say maybe about 8% into the 2-pass VBR, everything will pause.
It's not a crash, but the Vegas CPU load goes down to zero, the elapsed time on the render stops incrementing, everything just pauses.
I accidentally discovered a while ago the way to get things going again. I simply launch another session of Vegas. As soon as the second session launches, everything restarts in the first session, and I can then close the second session.
After this restart, sometimes the project renders to completion, sometimes it pauses a few more times and I need to restart it again in the same manner.
It's certainly better than crashing, but has anyone else seen this problem? And is there a way to avoid it pausing at all?
Thanks.
