This afternoon we went to the beach to shoot some testfootage for a new short movie-project. As it was shot with the DVX100 PAL in difficult sun and weater conditions, you might like to see our brief efforts:

(filmed in 25P mode; changed the letterbox size in Vegas 4; no additional color correction)

Looks like great lighting conditions depending on the desired mood. What other settings were you using?

Scenefile 6 with some minor adjustments, nothing very different. And some "manual" exposuring. Where we filmed towards the sun the ND filter was used.

interesting...

looks like dusk..

what time of day was it?? and which beach was it?? Looks like La parouse....

hey, i noticed some of the second last shot was a lil jiggly.. was this tripoded? if so it looks as if it was either really windy or you had the OIS on, while the camera was fixed...

its very moody, whats the movie about?

It was around 15.00 hours.
The beach is "Bergen aan Zee" (at the coast of The Netherlands).
It was very very windy, and the tripod was not fixed very well as we were shooting from the path that leads to the sea. I didn't want to shoot on the beach, due to the risk of sand in my new camcorder.

Our short movie will have a romantic-dramatic story and is a contribution to the Gershwin film festival:
