Growing up as a twin, I was always constructing these elaborate drawings (storyboarding) with my brother, on the old computer paper dad brought home from work. We'd work for days on these things. That was the beginning. Then there was family movie night and playing the movie backwards (SFX) w/ side-splitting laughter. Then acting in jr/high school as a thespian (directing). And the mock marketing piece I edited from stock footage in college (editor). Some modeling/acting (a music video, a commercial spot-35mm- "WOW the real thing" I thought- and i got paid!)

But I really got started when i moved to Japan and bought an old Panasonic vhs-c camcorder. My first film was a frame-by-frame shot animation of my 4 tatami mat room mysteriously cleaning itself up. After taking one of those two-day film school courses I convinced my wife to let me buy an XL1 on credit. I've had a lot of fun independently and I've done the projects that I have wanted to do--those closest to my heart!
----------
After nearly a decade in Japan, I've relocated my family to Southern California--new territory for me and less time for shooting with the job hunt; specifically, I'm hoping to offer my broad background in media design and marketing to a group or company in the San Diego or Orange county areas and hope to contribute my practical knowledge in the areas of:

Japanese (8 years of fluency)
Marketing (Japan, Asia)
Project management (marcom, localization)
Print/motion media design
- Directed/produced, corporate & indy docs in Japan & US
- Assc. Prod, DV short- Japan
- Pa’d 35 mm feature film– Japan
Technical training
- ESL/EFL education (preschool-adult)
- CG software, video production

If any of you might offer some leads on organizations you are familiar with (ie. production houses, media groups, Japanese/bilingual, children’s media, educational, etc.) I would truly be grateful.

Thanks and Happy 2004! (Way to go USC!)

Thanks for the encouragement and I went to your wrangler's intro link. First time I've been there...nice to put faces with the names and bios.
