Hi I have just tried to capture some footage from my Sony Dsr500 wsp camera into my mac book pro running Final cut pro 6.5 and the footage is out of sync! I have checked the footage back and even tried playing back to tape but it is still out of sync by quite a lot I would say as much as 12 frames !!!!!!
Has anybody else had this problem does anybody know why. Please help
Thanks
Mark

Is it possible you've captured over a tape drop out? That will do it. Does the audio fall out of sync after a certain point or does it drift over the course of the clip?

Have you checked your audio settings? Make sure the camera is recording 48k audio and Final Cut Pro is set to accept 48k audio in the Sequence Settings. I'd also double check that the frame rate is the same for both (29.97 fps).

I've had this happen to me in the past. I accidentally recorded audio at 32k. Just change the FCP Sequence Settings to 32k for this particular sequence and everything should sync again (you might have to drag your clips back into the time line)

If that doesn't work, another "band-aid fix" was to adjust the Speed of the audio track only. Just try adjusting the Speed setting by a couple of tenth's or hundredths until you get things synced back up.
