I believe I read on this forum somewhere that shooting in frame mode makes it easier to transfer to film later, because there is no interlacing, or somesuch. I'm not technical at all. Is this accurate?

Depends on who does the 35mm transfer. Some facilities use different processes. Basically the rule is, if you're shooting PAL, then use Frame Movie mode, and if you're shooting NTSC, then don't use Frame Movie mode.

Go to my site, the XL1 Watchdog at www.dvinfo.net/xl1.htm and read the four-part DV to 35mm Guide. It tells you all about this sort of thing. Click Articles Menu > Post Production and you'll see it listed there. Hope this helps,

Thanks good sir. The reason I asked, besides my quest for knowledge, is that I like the frame look much better. I know there's ways in post to get the 24 fps look when actually shooting in regular video mode, but I don't have access to anything like that.
