View Full Version : Twixtor and 24p conversion

A few quick questions

1. I want to use twixtor to convert a 15 Minute short I have shot at 30p into 24p. However, I have never used Twixtor. So can anyone point me to a work-flow solution which incorporates twixtor (using premiere or AE). Also what considerations should I be aware of that might hinder the conversion (i.e. interlaced vs progressive, etc?)

2. Regarding the ease of use of Twixtor. I noticed that the revisionfx website does not provide a clear, usable tutorial. Does anyone have a suggestion as to where I can find a useful twixtor tutorial. (Or should I be looking at magic bullet?)

Dwight,

Do a search here at DV Info under Twixtor, because I believe we've talked about it!

Also, can anyone answer this?

I got twixtor to work with After Effects. Couldn't figure out how to use it with Premiere.

I couldn't find a manual either so i played around with a couple settings. for the most part you can leave the settings as they are when you open twixtor. But, obviously, you must change the output frame to 24 (or 23.98, depending on your needs). You can try playing with motion blur, and motion sensitivity, etc, but i didn't see a big difference.

The regular twixtor ($400) is probably adequate, as opposed to twixtor pro ($600).

you can download both twixtor 3.0 and twixtor pro demos. It works like normal except there's a big red X in the screen. It should tell you if it will work for you.

Twixtor renders very slowly. Took about 5 seconds per frame which means about 2.5 hours per minute.

good luck.
