How about we export, but this time let's uprez it to HD Mpeg2 then IMPORT the progressive 720p footage back in Edius and Edit it in RT! HD editing anyone?

Wanna see what that HD footage looked like?

Just like to add.
Edius 2.0 works on any OHCI PC. No Canopus card required.

You can also download a demo here:

hi Michael

Did you put any of these videos together? If you are doing this stuff, it is good. Do you make training videos?

Just wondering?

Yes, and yes.
I make training videos for Edius.
I'm releasing my 2.0 tutorial next week.

I've just ordered Edius 2.o with a Canopus DVRaptor RT 2 Max. It's the bundle and it's good value I think. I might order one of your DVD's soon. I will wait 'till I recieve the bundle first as it's due to ship early March.

Do you have samples from the 2.0 DVD on the site? Can they play in a standard DVD player? I only have so many monitors ;)

Thanks
Donie

I don't have samples up yet.. They do play in your set top DVD player.
I'll try to get samples up soon so you know what it's covering.

I posted a small sample on my site. Just go to the Tutorial DVD section and it's there.

Also, for anyone sitting on the fence or looking for a new NLE, why not try out the Edius 2.0 demo? It's quite good.

I'm considering buying the DVRaptor RT2 Max with Edius 2 (full version) bundle. What advantages would I gain by opting for version 3? I'm guessing version 3 requires more CPU horsepower to handle HDV, but since I have no plans to work with HDV, is it a worthwhile expense? I'm currently using a Hyper Threaded Pentium 4 @ 3 GHz and don't want to upgrade my CPU.

Thanks,

T.J.

edius 3 does not require more horsepower, editing hdv does however...

there is no contest between version 2 & 3, ....3 fixes many issues with version 2, and adds tons of new enhancements, in fact verision 2.5 would be better then version 2...

the latest version is 3.22, it will not see an update till Nab 2006 when version 4 comes out with multicam and keyframing...edius is not a full featured editor, its fast and gives me full resolution dv output on my laptop with multiple layers with effects, so i use it...

How's this working for you, Donie? What would you say are the system's strengths and weaknesses? And please describe your hardware in your review (if you write one).

Thanks,
