View Full Version : what is the HD on the mx7000/ mamba? Obin Olson February 13th, 2004, 08:15 AM guys I was reading somthing about HD on a mx7000..what do you know about that? Tommy Haupfear February 13th, 2004, 08:26 AM The Japanese NV-GS100 has been referred to as the MX7000 or Black Mamba. HD (High Definition) does not mean the same thing in Japan as it does in North America. The NV-GS100 is a standard SD MiniDV camcorder. Maybe Allan can chime in again on what the HD actually stood for. If I recall high definition in Japan stood for superior video quality but I could be wrong. Allan Rejoso February 13th, 2004, 10:16 AM HD technology is the collective term Pany Japan used for the 4 major features of the GS100, which combined, are supposed to be the secret to its very high dv quality. These 4 features are: Leica Dicomar Low Dispersion Glass Lens OIS 3-CCD System Crystal Engine Although most people understand HD, the most commonly used phrase in Japan is HI-VISION. So we have Hi-Vision Terebi (TV), Hi-Vision satellite broadcast, Hi-Vision terrestial broadcast, Hi-Vision Plasma, Hi-Vision LCD, Hi-Vision Camera, etc. The only consumer Hi-Vision cam is still the HD1 made by Victor Japan (JVC). |
