For a recent project I picked up I am wanting to shoot in 24 frames a second with my
XH-A1. I uses two kinds of pulldown for SD, 2,3 and 2,3,3,2. The manual warns that the NLE you use may not support this kind of pulldown scheme.

I have searched the Premiere CS3 manual and can't find a answer. Does anyone here know if it supports either scheme?

Thanks in advance.

I don't do a lot of pulldowns but I believe it supports both.

If you shoot 24p then select a project setting in PP that is also 24 frames then you can avoid doing any pulldowns at all. If you use Encore for DVD creation, it will automatically create the correct pulldown for DVD.

Since I am shooting in SD I can't use 24p, but thanks for the helpful information.

PPro has supported 2:3:3:2 at least as far back as the release of the XL2. The standard recommendation is to use it rather than 2:3 for anything intended for progressive editing and output. If I recall (from previous versions), PPro will run the footage properly on a 23.976 timeline without anything more than you telling it to use 2:3:3:2.

Best thing is to give it a quick test with a short clip or two and a blank project. Let us know if any issues arise. I'd think it should be no problem.
