Hi, does anyone know what the best (if there is one) DVD-R is out there in terms of quality for making a master for mass production. I just found out that many plants will accept an authored DVD-R if it's DVD5 instead of the need for the DLT. So of course I want to provide the best one possible...I've heard good things about an outfit called Ritek,, Verbatim also looks good,, but is there one that stand out as the best or are they all basically the same crap haha

Doesn't make that much difference cause they're going to take the data off of the disc! Choose a brand name, Maxell, Verbatim etc write at 1X and send more than one disc so they can choose the best one.

I'd like to add that you should also perform a Verify operation when making the disk. Nero will do this if your DVD authoring/burning package won't. Verify will simply read back the data and compare it to the disk image it wrote.

As for brand name disks, I've appreciated the reliability of TDK DVD-R, Maxell DVD-RW, Ritek silver top 4x DVD-R and Ritek DVD-RW.
