Anyone know of a distributor or retail outlet for those ceramic lamp sockets that are used by the MR16 halogen lamps? These are the little halogen bulbs with the built-in reflector. Similar to a bulb in a slide projector.

I need about 10 of them.

Never mind, I found them. Simple search turned up dozens of suppliers this time. Not cheap though.

Mike, you might take a look at Ushio's line voltage lamps that are similar to the MR 16s but use a standard base. Go to this link and look at the bottom of the page. I think you can save some $

These are a very nice alternative that we use in the theatre frequently. Specifically, we have a bunch of miniature "par cans" that use the line voltage candelabra base MR-16's. These units are often called "birdies" and are handy for concealing inside scenery or other tight spots onstage.

Thank you. Too bad the screw-in lamps are 75 & 100 watts at wall-socket voltage but they are nice to know about.
