I noticed last night that the back focus on my JVC 110 was way out. Didn't have a printed Siemens star around, so I displayed the PDF from JVC on my 30" Apple monitor and used the displayed version.

Seemed to work quite well - all was fine this AM when I shot some stuff. Just passing it on and wondering if anyone else has done this or whether there is some big Gotcha lurking here.

But it did seem to work fine.

Hey Jim,
No big gotcha using the monitor except you want to make sure you do the backfocus adjustment at F Wide open so it works in low light situations. If you adjust the backfocus at smaller F Stops the adjustment will not be correct at the wider ones. If you can't adjust the brightness of the monitor low enough you can always use the ND in the camera

Thanks Dan.

Yeah, I noticed the f-stop problem and used the ND Filter so I could do it wide open. Really seemed to work quite well.
