Hi
I have a Sennheiser MZA 900P inline pre-amp, to connect any mic which plugs into an SK100 transmitter to an XLR socket. However, it seems to be generating significantly more hiss than when the same mic is connected through a transmitter and receiver to the same recorder. I have tried an ME2 and MKE2, and used an EX1 and Zoom H4 as recorder. I have had the MZA 900P plugged straight in and on the end of a 10 m XLR cable and in all cases, with the MZA 900P there is significant hiss and with the transmitter and receiver, virtually none. Is this normal or is my MZA 900P faulty?
