Am I correct in assuming that if I connect the KiPro to my PDW-350, that I will lose all the in-camera clip browsing features? Will it record to both the KiPro AND an XDCAM disk simultaneously? Thanks for any and all info.

Interesting product!

I wouldn't know why you could loose the browsing features on the XD disk. You should use 2 cables: the firewire connection for remote and timecode and the SDI connection for image and sound. If it operates similar to a firestore it just listens to the start/stop pulses from the camera and acts as an independent external recorder.

I assume that if you start the camera clipbrowser it only browses the clips on the XD disk.

Sure it will. The camera doesn't know what is connected to the HDSDI port and always outputs a raw HDSDI stream to it. If you have something on the other end that can record that signal (HDCAM deck, AJA KiPro, etc.) you'll have two versions. The thumbnail browsing will come from what's recorded to the disc though.
