I couldn't figure out how to search for this so I apologize if it has been covered in other threads.

After converting my Canon 5D Mark II .MOV files with NeoScene, I'm getting AVI clips that are reported as 29.97fps. My Premiere project (baseline?) is set to 30 fps because I am exporting to .flv at 30fps.

The 5D2 Canon specs are stated as 30fps. Is this wrong? Is neoScene converting the FPS?

Am I going to get repeated/dropped frames in my video? Should I change my project and .flv to 29.97 fps?

Yes, NeoSCENE converts to 29.97 because 95% of the time this is what people want in order to create NTSC-compatible videos (that are also web-compatible). Just export your flv files at 29.97 too.

It should at least have an option to just use the input format, instead of changing my video. I can't predict whether this will ever cause me a problem, but it bothers me from a lack of control perspective.

it has created problems for me. The audio is not being processed properly and it's losing synch on long clips. I filed a trouble ticket a while ago but they haven't addressed it yet. I would like the ability to turn this feature on or off at the very least.

Keith,

We are having no other reports of this, and we have a large number 5D users. In 1.1/1.2 of Neo Scene there was a audio sync bug, but not in 1.3.x. If you use NEO HD you can control the speed change and offer 30.0 fps using the 0.1% speed-up option. We are not going to add this feature to Neo Scene, as is intentionally simplied for a lower-end market.

Mark,

If you are full control type, you will want to use Neo HD. However 29.97 fix improve the output quality as so many user don't know who to do it themselves (remember it is required from DVD/BluRay exports otherwise you get frame blending.)

P.S. Neo Scene 1.3.2 will be out today.
