Hi all,

Just got my EX3 couple weeks ago, and today I'm trying to mount wireless receiver to rear shoe mount, however, couldn't slide it in. A metal part takes up almost empty space, wondering if any EX3's owner has the same problem and how to fix this.

Thanks in advance!

If I understand you correctly, you are saying the metal plate within the shoe is raised too high so you can't slide anything into it (like a Senny G2 receiver with the shoe clamping thumbwheel turned to fully reveal the it's shoe - sorry if this is obvious!). Correct?

Sony should send you a replacement shoe. Try contact them directly or via your EX3 dealer. I believe (not tried it though!) that it should be easy to change this rear shoe as it has a screw holding it onto the body at the rear/lower end of the shoe part. What I don't know is if it's also glued onto the body as well though. Anyone know?

Hi Terrence,

The metal part of the rear shoe can easily be removed by lifting its rear edge slightly with a fingernail. When it is lifted the part slides forward and out. Underneath you will see 4 small screws that hold the plastic section in place.

Hi again Terrence,

An update on my comment above. The metal part of shoe has probably been pushed in too far. If, when you look down on the shoe you can see two small metal claws protruding past the plastic section it has been pushed in too far. In this case remove the metal bit and reinstall making sure that you push down the front of the metal bit as you do so. This will ensure the metal hook clips over the plastic lip below thereby locating the metal section where it should be. Good luck.

Thank you very much for all your helps, I will try to fix it as your instructions, if not I have to call Sony for a replacement.
