This is it in one of its more elaborate setups. Matte box with bellows, Wireless mike plate and shoulder mount / IDX battery holder. The Cam and on-camera light can run from the IDX batts.

It balances very well, I can even add a Frezzi light on the front hot shoe. Just like Betacams of old.

I also have a Q-Vision (top mount) Tele prompter that mounts to this setup.

I use The VF baseplate a Cavision Rail setup and an old Cavision Mattebox. The Mahogany Battery mount and W/L mike setup is an aluminum plate I made up.

The rails and matte box come off easily. And then it is a great feels-like-betacam but lighter setup.

The whole thing snaps to a Sony VCT-14 plate.

The larger LCD is a Marshall.

Which Marshall monitor do you have?

I am waiting for the Marshall V-LCD70P-3GSDI to come out, hopefully in the next 30 days.

VR70P-HDA,

I have had it for a year or so now, I love it in the field and so do producers. I have the Hoodman H7-M cover for it, perfect for critical focus. Great in bright sun for a producer, I let them look at it mounted on a light stand. I also got the Portabrace bag/cover for it, it works OK but is not as good as my old Portabrace monitor bags, I actually had to modify it to be able to use it with the 1/4" mounts.

If I was going to get a Marshall now I would get the HD-SDI version, I got it originally for my DSR500. The HD Component out works fine, but the SDI would be a more robust connection.

I like that for a field producer I can set up the B-cam as SD composite and even a C-cam as S. And then she or he can monitor all three with one monitor. The aspect Ratio goudes are really handy too. I still do a lot of 4:3 SD.
