Ok. Frame mode rocks my world. I had seen a few tests before, but man it really kicks! In my opinion it looks better than de-interlacing. It has more motion blur, but I could be wrong. Does it have more motion blur or is just how it's played back on my LCD moditor? I using my brand new PV-DV953 in frame mode, (which I love). What do you think about frame mode?

I think that frame mode/progressive scan is a neat feature. I don't know about motion blur but it does play back a touch choppy---a nice effect.

Frame mode does look better than interlaced footage deinterlaced in most software. I'm sure there are some high end deinterlacers that can make the picture look better. When you shoot in frame mode, you are capturing a full frame every 1/30 sec instead of a 1/2 frame every 1/60 second. So, the motion blur per frame is reduced (between fields). That's why Panasonic refers to it more as a still picture mode. However, in video there is more temporal lag between frames which causes the jerky look and more motion blur. It looks more like 24 FPS film and that's why some Canon folks shooting XL1S and GL2s seem to like it.
