doing a 2 camera shoot, ex3 and hdv canon xha1 how to edit?

should i shoot on the HQ setting on the ex3, and can i then just capture it into an hdv project?

i use premiere pro.

Depends what you shoo the most with. If your "A" Camera is the EX3 I would edit in what ever format you set the EX3 to

Or, if you want to keep it simple, you could shoot the EX3 in SP mode- which is HDV, and edit everything on an HDV timeline.

That is what I do. I shoot my EX3 in Sp mode therefore avoiding long renders when mixing formats.

It all comes down to workflow vs. quality. Sure maybe the SP isn't as nice as the HQ mode but then again your other camera is limited to HDV anyway so why not make them match. The art to two camera shoots is making your material match as much as possible.

There are some people who really don't mind waiting many hours to render their second camera to match their first camera. Personally I would rather my cameras match and be able to start editing right away.
