I am new to AVCHD vid using a Pan HDC-HS300. I transferred my files to my pc and an using vegas 8.0B (217)build version. I started a new project and selected 1080I 29.97fps. The video was recorded on the cam set on HG1920. I tried to load up some of the video but vegas just locks up. I have a quad core processor with 4 gigs of mem on my system and Nvidia 9800 GTX+ vid card. Any idea on what I'm doing wrong?

Hi Rikki

My simple solution was to get VAAST's Upshift software which converts the MTS file from the camera into an M2t file at 50mbs. Great quality and it runs on my Vegas 7e sweetly with no problems at all on a DuoCore 2.2ghz machine with 2gb ram!!

I dunno about render times to HD but it will render a 1920x1080 project back down to MPEG2 to a DVD slightly faster than realtime too!!!

I know it's not the best solution but it's certainly the most stress-free one!!!
