Hey you guys. Check out our latest video. Towards the end you'll see some crane shots. Let me know what you think overall.

i thought it was great as an overall piece, and the crane really added to it...i'd prob have taken out the shots where the B+G seemed to 'give up' from their poses (near the end)

i'm not sure why you've called it a music video though? isn't it just a highlights clip? to be a music vide i was expecting people to sing along, or to have some music video type storyboarding :)

would you kindly share the crane model you used?

nice work

thanks

Hey Richard,
Thanks for the comment. Actually I never thought of it that way, but a lot of people call it their music video highlights... its a video with music ;)

The Crane model isn't anything special its called the "Jib1 crane system" very cheap and simple... however we did buy a stand for it as well to hold the arm up. Yeah bride and groom usually start giving up towards the end of the day, we make them work hard so that they'll never forget their day ;)

Thanks again.

Looked very good. Thing only things that seemed odd where the jib shots with no people in them, just a tree trunk. I was thinking something would reveal, but nothing happened. Seemed like a "look at this cool thing we can do" sort of shot (which, I have been known to do myself).

I liked your video and was very taken by it during the first 30-45 seconds of watching/listening. Unfortunately, I think that was because I'm a Jason Mraz fan and hearing that song applied in this sort of a context made my mind rush with ideas and conceptualizations of videos that I can match to that song. Seeing that part of your video and the use of the song was in that regard an inspiration to me.

As for your video, I think you could do more to improve it.

One of the first things I noticed was that your cuts were not synced to the music. Try to close your eyes and listen to the music when you first start editing. Don't worry about the video at all, in fact, it's probably better if you don't have any video on the timeline. Listen to the music, and visualize the video that you want to accompany it. Then go through and listen to it again, while keeping track of the beat and when you expect to make cuts. Put markers there.

I think that by editing to the music, your video can have a much greater impact.

Glenn, thanks for your input. It's a really good song I agree. Most of the song is actually built to the music but I did try to fit some in that were a little off beat. (I had too many good clips!) But thats a good method that I will try.

It sounds like you had more to say to improve it but you only stated one thing...

Thanks
