Hi All,

So I am editing my first HD project and have ran into a few issues:

-Sony Vegas can not find my camera when I try to upload, when it gives you the option for dv or hdv, I choose HDV and it can't ever find it. I have tried different chords and different computers. Any suggestions?

-I also have CS2/Premiere and Premiere can find it. However, when I uploaded with Premiere it was one big clip and in .AVI form. I'm not sure it it uploaded in SD or HD as I thought all HD gets uploaded in .M2T files. Any ideas?

-Last, is there a program that can detect the scenes and break up the one large clip into the scene breaks?

Sorry if these are dumb questions and thanks in advance!

I can't answer all of them but to the best of my knowledge: (if I'm wrong please someone correct me)(im sort of new to this myself)

HDV is a Sony only format, since I never used Canon I don't know what format they use.

The only thing that I can say about having one large file vs smaller clip files is have you set your cameras clock? Before I did that to my PD170 it captured as one large file.
