View Full Version : Gamma issues solved in The new Final Cut Studio? Michael Wisniewski July 26th, 2009, 04:50 AM Any info on this? Haven't found anything specific just yet. Andy Mees July 26th, 2009, 05:29 AM Hi Michael I believe issues of gamma are more deeply rooted within the current (and past) Quicktime implementations, rather than specific to Final Cut Studio. As far as I can tell, the new Studio does not install nor implement a new QuickTime engine so it seems unlikely that you'll see your concerns addressed with this particular release ... however, the consensus seems to be that the forthcoming QuickTime X framework may finally provide the best shot yet at seeing the back of such issues. Best Andy Mathieu Ghekiere August 18th, 2009, 03:30 AM Jim Jannard said all the gamma issues were fixed in Snow Leopard. Olof Ekbergh August 22nd, 2009, 08:06 AM I got very different (darker) on exporting a sequence in FCP7, than I did exporting from 6.0.6. I did exactly the same export as self contained Prores422 1080i 60, as I had done about two weeks ago. Both were imported into M100. And the difference is striking, so something has changed. This is when viewing on through a Kona HDe on a NTSC HD monitor and can easily be seen on scopes. If someone is interested I can Post screen shots and scope shots. |
