Doing some test video and noticed I can hear the zoom mechanism when zooming in and out on the video. This is in iMovie9. I recorded in a quiet room. Was thinking of getting the mic that attaches to the unit but since I can hear this while caming, and the mic is close to the unit, will it still pick the zoom mechanism noise? Heck, my SR11 never picked up zooming noise. Starting to get a little disappointed with the 150.

In typical situations with ambient noise, you won't hear the zooming too much. But most small camcorders do suffer from this issue, as the mic and lens motors are pretty close to each other. To eliminate it completely, you'll need a bracket and external mic that is directional and somewhat removed from the camera (or a wireless). Of course, you could also stay away from the zoom rocker in quiet rooms and move closer to your subject.

So if I get an attached mic, That would eliminate recording the machanical noise from camcorder? B&H has 2 mics but the panny is a bit expensive. I don't know anything about these mic's so any suggestions would be appreciated.
