Guys,

I have Vegas, PAL/NTSC monitor. Live in NYC.
Still did decide what to buy DVX A or DVX AE (PAL).

Anyone know if shooting PAL and next transfering master copy of my films to NTSC (using DV ATLANTIS software =175$ on dvfilm.com) makes sense? If the quality of NTSC tape (transfered from PAL using ATLANTIS) still will be "full" NTSC quality - I would go for this plan. But if you tell me that making transfer from PAL to NTSC using ATLANTIS gives less resolution and general quality of the image that "regular" NTSC I would not go for it.

I just want to be able to have:
1) PAL copies for European Film Festivals
2) NTSC copies for US Film Festivals
3) and if...the movie is great and Big Studio wants to buy it and make a blow up to film - I still would give them PAL copy to do it (PAL has 20% better vertical resolution which makes better film transfer)

Thanks for your opinion,
Voytek Stitko

I would think that a 24 fps PAL image would be better. But you should be asking this in the Panny Forum.

I would decide where your biggest market will be, and then buy the appropriate cam; or buy 2 cams: 1 NTSC, 1 PAL (perfection at last).

there is NO 24p frame rate on panasonic DVX100 PAL version. just 25p (and of course interlaced mode)

just an info.

PAL WILL give you better resolution as well as higher contrasts...
ie, colours richer

Id go for a PAL and convert in Post..
