I was going to wait a bit for the series to mature before going
out to proclaim it was one of the greatest shows out there
besides the ever brilliant Scrubs.

I had only watched the first couple of minutes of the pilot and
didn't find it too intriguing. Then I read somewhere (probably
one of Hercules' posts on Ain't it cool (www.aint-it-cool-news.com) that is was a great show.

So I watched the pilot through and was hooked halfway through.
I'm still not sure what pulled me in but the first time the thing
happened with the wax lion and the brass (?) monkey I nearly
fel out of my seat. Great voice casting on that too. I must say
the lead actress is terrific as well.

So guess what happens after only 4 episodes? Yes, Fox cancelled (http://www.aintitcool.com/display.cgi?id=17305)
the show! NOOOO. How could they! It actually ruined a weekend
for me. It has the most impossible timeslot to start with (friday
evening). Then they moved it to thursday for the last episode
they aired and then they cancelled it. The horror!

Tim Minear (shows creator and executive producer) wrote (http://www.timminear.net/archives/press/000064.html) a small
piece about it on his website.

If you've missed these 4 episodes you've missed something great
in my humble opinion. Check out the IMDB (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0361256/) credentials for more info.

Let's hope the rest of the original 13 episodes (already shot) get
aired sometime or we can at least get a DVD set that concludes
it all.

So did anyone else enjoy the show as much and hate it they
cancelled it? Any other thoughts on the show?

I'm still waiting to wake up....

EDIT: a good friend of mine just pointed me to this Save Wonderfalls website (http://www.savewonderfalls.com/)
Guess where I'm going... <g>

EDIT2: and a petition is up (http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/wonderfalls) as well

I don't wanna state the obvious, but. . .it's all about the MONEY! Ratings and money! If it no pull ratings, it go bye-bye! No one cares about good art only MONEY!

That's why indie films are independent, and wonderful tripe like "The whole Ten Yards" or "Eurotrip" is mainstream

Arghghghghg!

That ARghghghgh was not directed at you, but rather at the evil empire that makes these decisions.

Thanks Josh! It's true indeed. Funny thing is, though, that it
reserved quite good reviews and a very good number of viewers,
especially for the impossible slot on friday. Oh well.

Yeah, but not ENOUGH viewers. If it doesn't hit REAL big REAL quick, they axe it. Also, apparently reality shows are much more of an easy ratings guarantee than scripted narrative programming.
