Hi all,

I recently dusted off some old cineformed HV20 footage which I'm editing in Vegas Pro 8. The rendered footage appears to have interlacing issues, and I'm not sure why.

The footage is 25p...the original files play correctly in Vegas and in WMP. The properties for Vegas and the clip are set to 1440x1080, progessive, 25p.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Steve

I had the same problems with interlacing, but even uglier, terrible ghosting on all moving objects (look at the bat/stick on your .png!) while rendering some 50i footage to 25p.
I did a lot of searching, but there was almost nothing to find about it. I guess it's some specific HV20 PAL in Vegas problem. I don't have the same problems with my XHA1 footage captured through the HV20 as a deck.

Anyway, i found a solution: 'right-click' each clip and check the 'disable resample' box.
It did work for me in combination with 'interpolate fields', but that's because i was working with 50i footage. It can work for you to maybe.

Hi Steve. Try setting the project deinterlace type to Interpolate or Blend Fields, rather than None. I know this is counter-intuitive but it can make a difference with progressive footage.

Another satisfied customer - thanks guys.

I set the project and file type to interlaced with "interpolate fields" as the deinterlace method...it worked a treat. Disable resample helped fix my one slowmo (stretched) clip.

Cheers,

Steve
