I'm curious if Pana is having second thoughts with releasing the GS400 because they think it will compete with the DVC30---steal DVC30 sales. These cams aren't all that different, are they?

I got the sense from reading the dvc30 brochure Tommy found that Panasonic is pushing the ENG and security cam capabilities, which is a different niche from the home video or film-style video market. What do you think? Maybe what they're really to-ing and fro-ing about is how to position both items so that they don't, in fact, stumble over each other.

Maybe the AG-DVC30 is the MX3000 4.5 years too late. Since the MX3000 was never brought into the North American market, but everywhere else, Pana USA decided that now is a good a time as any. :-)))

Just watch. In 5 years from now the GS100 will be brought in as a AG-DVC35.

DVC30 is a diffrent beast...

And twice the cost for MX3000 CCDs in a Black Pana Pro 2-piece cam. :-))
